The short version

  • Writers keep full copyright in what they write. We claim no rights to it.
  • Most writing on Path of Prose is private. Other people can see a book only through a reader link its writer shares.
  • If a reader link shows your work without permission, send a notice to our designated agent, below. We act on complete notices quickly.
  • If we removed your work by mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
  • We end the accounts of repeat infringers.

Path of Prose is run by ARNIK LLC. This page is our policy under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 USC 512.

Our designated agent

Send copyright notices to our designated agent:

  • Name: ARNIK LLC, attention: Copyright Agent
  • Address: 5477 N Saddle Stone Dr, Eagle Mountain, UT 84005, United States
  • Email: arnikllc+pathofprose@gmail.com
  • Phone: 801-835-5917

The agent is registered in the US Copyright Office's DMCA designated agent directory (registration last amended 2026-10-27). Email is the fastest way to reach us.

Sending a notice

Your notice must be in writing and include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature, or that of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner;
  2. the copyrighted work you say is infringed, or a list if there are several;
  3. the material you say infringes it, and enough to find it, such as the reader link;
  4. your name, address, phone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

A notice that leaves out these things may not be valid. If you knowingly say that material infringes when it doesn't, you may be liable for damages (17 USC 512(f)). If you aren't sure, consider asking a lawyer first.

What we do with a notice

When we receive a complete notice, we remove or turn off the reader link or the material it names, and we tell the writer, with a copy of the notice. We look at a writer's books only as far as the notice needs, as our privacy policy explains.

Sending a counter-notice

If your work was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice. It must be in writing and include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the material that was removed and where it appeared before;
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where ARNIK LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent.

We send a copy of a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving the counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

We end, in appropriate circumstances, the account of any writer who repeatedly infringes others' copyright (17 USC 512(i)).

  • We count each valid notice against an account that we acted on, unless a counter-notice succeeded or the notice was withdrawn.
  • An account with three valid notices is ended. We may end an account sooner if the infringement is deliberate or serious.
  • Before an account is ended, we try to give the writer a chance to download their own work, unless the law stops us, as our terms explain.
