The short version

  • Write what you like. Fiction goes to dark places, and that's fine. Your private drafts are your business.
  • Don't use Path of Prose to break the law or hurt people, especially through the links you share with readers.
  • Don't attack, overload or get around the limits of the service.
  • Tell us about misuse at arnikllc+pathofprose@gmail.com.

This policy is part of our terms of use. Path of Prose is run by ARNIK LLC.

Your writing

Path of Prose is a private workspace for fiction. Violence, crime, cruelty and despair are part of storytelling, and we don't police the themes of your book.

You may not use Path of Prose to store or share:

  • sexual content involving anyone under 18, of any kind, written or pictured;
  • material that you don't have the right to use, such as someone else's copyrighted book or pictures, beyond what the law allows;
  • anything else that is illegal where you live or in the United States.

Sharing with readers

Reader links send your chapters to the people you choose. Don't use them to:

  • harass, threaten or intimidate anyone;
  • publish someone's private information without their permission;
  • send spam, scams or links to harmful software.

The service itself

Don't:

  • try to get into another person's account or data;
  • probe, scan or test the service for weaknesses without our permission (if you find a security problem, please tell us);
  • overload the service, or get around its limits, such as the limits on forms, links and reader notes;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools against the service, except the exports and backups the app gives you;
  • sell, share or pass on your invitation or your account;
  • copy, resell or rebuild the app or its guidance.

What happens if someone breaks this policy

We may remove a reader link, suspend an account or end it, depending on how serious the problem is, and we may report illegal content to the authorities when the law requires it. Unless the law or safety stops us, we will try to tell you first and give you a chance to download your work.

We look at what you write only when a report or a fault needs it, as our privacy policy explains.

Reporting misuse

If you see something on Path of Prose that breaks this policy, write to arnikllc+pathofprose@gmail.com . Tell us what you saw and, for a reader link, the link itself.
