Write a scene

Write shows your book as one long page, chapter by chapter, with a ⁂ between scenes. Click into a scene and type.

Find a scene

Open Chapters for the list of chapters and scenes. A scene's ⋯ has Rename, Add scene after, Move to trash and more. A scene in the trash keeps its words; restore it from Archived.

Saving and versions

"Saved on this device" shows as you type, and the top bar says Saved once it has reached your account. If the same scene changed on another device, the app shows both, This device and Other device, and you choose what to keep. Nothing is overwritten: the version you don't keep is saved too.

For a copy to come back to, open ⋯ in the toolbar, then Snapshots, and choose Take a snapshot. The app also takes one by itself as you write.

Word counts

The count at the top right of the page updates as you write. To set a daily goal, open Settings, then Writing.
