The Bible

The Bible is where the facts of your story live: your characters, places, rules of the world, items, glossary, timeline and research, beside what you planned.

Open it

Each step's side panel has a Bible tab. In Plan, the panel opens from Guidance at the top right; in Outline, from Story core; in Write, from Scene, Bible, Threads. From anywhere in a book you can also press Ctrl and the period key, which opens the panel on its Bible tab.

Find and add

Type in Search by name or alias to find an entry. In Write, Named in this scene lists the entries the scene you're in mentions.

Each heading, such as Characters or Places, opens a drawer with its entries. To add one, choose + Add at the top, or open a drawer and choose its add button, such as + Add character. Fill in the first lines, then choose Add character to keep it. Open in Plan ↗ opens that part of Plan for the full form.

Put away and bring back

In the panel, an entry's ⋯ has Archive. In Plan, the ⋯ on the entry's row in the list has Remove, and the entry's own page has Delete card. Either way, an entry that belongs to this book waits under Bible entries on the Archived page, where Restore brings it back with its words as they were. An entry shared across a series waits there too, marked Shared in and the series' name; Restore puts it back in the series for every book.
