Getting started

Path of Prose guides you through one piece of fiction in five steps: Plan, Outline, Write, Review and Finish.

The first time

The app asks what kind of writer you are: a planner, a discovery writer or somewhere in between. Choose one and Continue. It only changes which Plan page opens first. To look around first, choose Open sample: A Christmas Carol, planned and part-written, which you can read but not change.

Start a book

On My Books, choose New book. Give it a title (you can change it later), pick its form and length, and choose Create book. The book opens on its overview. Start with Plan takes you to the first Plan page.

The five steps sit in the bar at the top of every page of the book. Move between them whenever you like; nothing has to be finished first.

Your words stay on your device

Each change is saved on this device first, so you can keep working with no connection. The top bar says Saved once your work has reached your account.
